      How To Clean Your Watch

      Posted by admin | Uncategorized | Wednesday 23 April 2008 11:13 am

Don’t you hate it when your watch gets dirty? There is no need to worry. You can clean your watch easily with just a few easy steps. Take a moment right now to review these simple steps, so that you can give your watch a proper cleaning.

      Step 1: Separate the band.

If you have a removable band on your watch, it is a good idea to separate it from the face and the mechanical part of the watch for the cleaning. This is because you should avoid getting those parts of your watch wet. If you aren’t able to remove it, don’t worry. You just need to make sure that you don’t damage to working parts when you apply the cleaner.

      Step 2: Choose a cleanser.

You should use a mild soap or rubbing alcohol for most types of watches. If you have a gold watch, or it is made of silver or a platinum material, you might consider using a small amount of jewelry cleaner. Using water alone is not going to be very effective. If you do use some water, make sure that it is mixed with a mild soap (such as dish soap) and don’t get the inside wet.

Step 3: Use a soft cloth or a soft toothbrush.

Don’t use a scrubber sponge, a hard bristle toothbrush or paper towel. Abrasive materials can add scratches to your watch that you don’t want. Make sure that you use a soft material to wipe away stains, oils and germs. Rub gently in a circular motion to clean your watch.

Step 4: Make sure it’s dry.

It is important to make sure that you remove all of the moisture from the band of the watch, and any other part of the watch that may have gotten wet. Even though you do not use very much liquid during the cleaning process, you will want to make sure that there isn’t any moisture left. If you leave it wet, mildew might develop, and you don’t want that on your watch! Also, depending on the material it is made out of, wetness can cause rust. Make sure that you take a smooth, dry cloth and dry your watch well.

That is all. Now you can put your watch band back on and wear your watch. You might want to leave it alone for a while since you put the work into cleaning it, however. Anyway, that is all there is to it, and you can clean your watch every couple of months to keep it shiny and nice.

Our fascination with the rich and famous is nothing new. There are television shows, magazines, websites, and Celebrity blogs dedicated to celebrity watching. One of the most intriguing aspects of the celebrity lifestyle is the extravagant shopping habits of these stars.

The most well-known shopping district frequented by Hollywood celebs is Rodeo Drive. This glamorous and expensive district spans only three blocks but some of the most affluent shops and boutiques can be found in this area. The most well-known clothing designers in the world have shops located on Rodeo. Gucci, Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, Valentino, and Ralph Lauren designs are sold within these three blocks. Cartier and Tiffany have stores here that cater to celebrities in the market for sparkling jewels. Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Yves Saint Laurent are part of the district as well.

Wedged between Beverly Hills and West Hollywood is the lesser known shopping district Robertson Boulevard that attracts the ultra-famous. The area between Beverly Boulevard and Third Street is where most of the trendy shops and infamous restaurants are located that attract stars who want to avoid the touristy Rodeo Drive area. Kitson boutique has been known to serve celebrity clientele like Halle Berry, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton. The upscale boutiques Ghost and Madison also share the Robertson address. Celebs Leonardo DiCaprio, Winona Ryder, and Jennifer Love Hewitt have been spotted shopping at the exclusive Lisa Kline and Lisa Kline For Men. Stupid celebrities frequently highlights the most outrageous shopping sprees of the hottest A-listers.

London is a hot spot for Hollywood stars out and about abroad. Harrod’s, Selfridges, and the King’s Road are shopping venues that attract the rich and famous from around the world. Primrose Hill Village is home to unique boutiques and stores frequented by high-profile celebs. Many stars prefer vintage clothing and one-of-a-kind fashions that can be found in obscure boutiques. The Cross and Browns are celebrity picks for finding avant garde and up-and-coming accessories from all over the world.

So what kinds of purchases do these celebrities make when hitting all of these exclusive retail outlets? Fashion expert Erin Ralph has reported details on shopping sprees by Jennifer Tilly, Demi Moore, Elton John, and Madonna. During a visit at Prada, Tilly purchased twelve pairs of Jimmy Choo shoes at an average price of $400 per pair. Demi Moore shelled out $15,000 during a Gucci shopping spree in Cannes. Elton John reportedly spent $100,000 at Versace despite a 30 percent VIP discount. Pop diva Madonna and her husband parted with $45.000 during a Fendi shopping spree.

Actress Katie Holmes and wife of Tom Cruise dropped $200,000 at the Beverly Hills Barneys New York store in 2006. Purchases of $400 for two pairs of jeans and five bags of clothes for baby Suri were a few of the goodies reported from her spending spree. Madonna, who reportedly earns $43 million a year, browses through “look books” from designers at her London home. She’s been known to spend $60,000 at a single sitting.

There are certain weaknesses that celebrities have admitted to when it comes to shopping obsessions. Beyonce Knowles finds earrings irresistible. The superstar even purchases them in bulk. Sarah Jessica Parker confesses that she has a serious compulsion for purchasing shoes. The former star of hit comedy “Sex in the City” estimates that she has around 100 pairs ranging in price from $300 to $1000. Trendy Fashions Are Not Just For The Skinny These Days

      Posted by admin | Uncategorized | Monday 7 April 2008 11:13 am

There was a time was when plus size women were totally left out in trendy wears. They were beaten into accepting the lie that only thin ladies had the right to beautiful dresses. They dreaded boutiques and every other place that called attention to their shape and size. They preferred to be invisible because of the numerous heartaches they’ve had due to taunts from both friends and family about their ugly bulky size.

The stores and outlets didn’t help issues either. They always had a habit of having very thin ladies as sales persons. These lot who had always been praised for their great shape have grown accustomed to showing their disdain for the plus size.

And, least I forget, their section was somewhere at the back of the store where they won’t scare away better looking customers. Many businesses still run their plus size departments this way.

Bad as it was, the plus sized accepted their sentence without protesting. They accepted this conspiracy without a contest. The worst of designs were for them. It seemed like only designers who lacked ability undertook their design. Whereas designs are made to enhance looks, their designers consistently preferred styles that did all but enhance their appearance.

That was the norm until a few savvy business persons began to changed things. Perhaps it was the intervention of fate that made Delta Burke, a former beauty queen, become plus sized. Perhaps because she knew that dresses were made to enhance looks from her stint as a beauty queen, she started a line of tastefully designed dresses especially for the plus size. She made huge profits and since folks go wherever money goes, a lot of other enterprises started attending to the specific needs of this formerly disregarded group.

      J. Jill, Plus Size, Lane Bryant and others brought in innovations that gave shape to the most off shape. There was a massive departure from the jute sack designs that these group had been condemned to in the past. These designs used the ingenuity of color combinations, darts, packets and other options to give life to their innovations.

So who says it is a crime to be larger? And who says that looking trendy is only for skinny teenagers? The plus size women now have options that let them bring their variety into the fashion window. Thank goodness for whoever first thought up the idea of giving the plus size ranges to look great in. After all, sooner or later most of us will add some pounds especially those of us on the fringes of slim. And who wouldn’t at 50 years plus?

A million thanks for those great plus size designs. We can all look our best at any size.

Many women can manage well in heels of any length after enough practice, usually by starting with smaller heeled shoes before moving on up. The number one tip for stiletto walking is confidence! Remember your shoes can accent your own fashion-forward style and your unique personality.

Owning a pair (or ten) of these heeled classics can be easy with online shopping and what woman doesn’t want to conquer a runway in stilettos? In fact, many women would love a pair of sleek and sexy heels for home or play, if they knew they wouldn’t fall flat in front of a large crowd. From the experts, the best way to enjoy heeled shoes is to practice in them. Several cities offer classes and workshops that show the do’s and don’ts of heel walking. Even more exciting are the newest and trendiest work-out sessions and videos in legwork, which feature heeled workouts that utilize major muscle groups in the calves and thighs. Shed pounds and build muscle, while learning the best moves in heeled dancing!

To ensure those heels keep up with your busy life, consider these tips for stiletto shoe care. A good shoe store can be your best friend, but when it comes to heel care, prevention is the best possible defense. Always keep your shoes clean and dry if you want to help them last longer. This prevents falls and accidents which can lead to broken or damaged heels. Dry and clean heels also keep water and dirt from entering crevices and creating weak areas in the sole of the shoe. Polishing or waterproofing your shoes when possible will keep you ahead of the game as well. However, the best thing you can do is to catch problems before they start. Don’t let a small problem lead to a fall or another pair of ruined shoes.
