Thinner Belts And Smaller Clutches – This Year’s Fashion Do’s
The wildly overstated 80′s throwback belts that dominated the fashion world in 2007 are as outdated as that unlamented era itself. Now its time for the thin belt, which has attracted the eye of marriage types fond of the smaller and far more feminine accessories. Extra thin belts can be positioned above wearers’ waists to suggest a more slimming profile and can be used with a loosely fitting dress, oversized skit or sweater. Suits are now sporting beltloops to accommodate the new thin belt look.
It is important that you look at comfort when buying one of the thick, high waisted belts of 2007. These belts are thinner than last year’s models. There are plenty of different bright colors, patterns, and embellishments to choose from. If you are looking for an ’80s retro look, choose one of the belts that is longer and loops at the end.
Another great accessory that is extremely popular is the clutch. Clutches are very trendy this season and can be seen everywhere. I am just mad about them. They make even the frumpiest outfit look like a million bucks. Oversized clutches are no longer for formal events as they can be used in all situations.
The large hobo style bags from last year were simply just too heavy and cumbersome, despite the fact that they could hold so many of your personal items. The sizes were simply getting out of control and were clothing the dimensions of overnight bags. It was simply impossible to find the one thing that you needed among the seemingly thousands of items within.
The top designers such as Burberry, Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, and Fendi have been extremely hot on the use of clutches and belts this season, but if you can’t afford these name items try Steve Madden, H&M or Forever 21. Last season’s hot accessories were hardly accessories as we know them. They totally dominated the clothes they were supposed to accent. However, the past is the past and is now being replaced by sophisticated and chic styles in 2008.
